Dr Kim Manias, B. Med (Hons), B. Sc., Dip R.A.C.O.G., F.R.A.C.G.P., graduated from Newcastle University and has been with the surgery since 2000. He is a family physician (family doctor) with expertise in men’s and children’s health, women’s health, sexual health, the insertion of Implanon, and geriatric medicine. Kim is an accredited supervisor and teacher of junior doctors under the auspices of the Northern Territory General Practitioner Education (NTGPE) Training Program.
Dr Bhavya Balasubramanya (“Bhavya”), M.B.,B.S., M.D., D.N.B., D.T.M.H, joined the practice in 2022 and is a family physician with experience in all GP matters. Her special interests include Skin Cancer medicine (skin checks, cryotherapy & excision of lesions), Tropical Medicine & Vaccinations, Chronic Disease Management and continuity of care, and Shared Antenatal Care with Royal Darwin Hospital. Bhavya speaks English, Kannada, Hindi & Tamil.
Dr Nithin Antony, M.D. Physician, B.Sc., S.C.H.P., joined the practice in 2023, after working as a Resident Medical Officer and Psychiatry registrar in Royal Darwin Hospital. His special medical interests are Mental Health, Men’s Health, Indigenous health, Paediatrics (having completed the Sydney Child Health Program) and Chronic Disease Management. Nithin was born in North Africa, completing his school education in India and primary medical qualification in Ukraine. Since then, he has worked in India (Kerala) and the United Kingdom, before moving to Darwin and making this his home. Nithin enjoys spending time with his family, pets, being outdoors, and gardening. He speaks English, Malayalam, Ukrainian, Russian and Hindi.
Dr Catherine Lehmann, MD, SINT, AMC Cert. Catherine is originally from Wollongong, NSW, and worked at Stuart Park Surgery from 2017-2019, re-joining in mid-2024. Her range of expertise is wide and covers all aspects of General Practice, from newborns to the elderly, from chronic conditions to palliative care. Her special interests are in Menopause, Women’s Health in general, and Sexual & Reproductive Health for both men and women. She is qualified in Mirena and Implanon insertion and removal, plus medical termination of pregnancy (MS2 Step). Her other interests include dermatology (particularly skin cancer treatment), using botulinum toxin to treat hyperhidrosis and some cosmetic work, and she is an authorized prescriber of medical cannabis and Red Laser as a treatment for chronic pain. Catherine is an authorised and listed Medical Examining Officer for Mining Medicals.
Dr David M. Welch, M.B., B.S. (Hons), Dip R.A.C.O.G., F.R.A.C.G.P., has been with the practice since 1982, is the practice principal, and teaches, supervises and mentors G.P. registrars and junior doctors under the auspices of the Northern Territory General Practitioner Education (NTGPE) Training Program. David’s special interests are skin diseases (dermatology), diagnosing skin cancers, and the treatment of skin cancers with liquid nitrogen and excision. (Non-medical interests include the study of Aboriginal rock art and culture.)
Most of our doctors hold the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), the specialist college for General Practice, which requires high GP standards. Other doctors are completing their training and about to receive this qualification.
Our nurses, who carry out wound care, vaccinations, ear syringes, and assists the doctors are Patricia and Sue.
Our practice manager, Dr Kim Manias, has been with the practice since 2000.
Our daytime receptionists are Dee, Melissa, Maxine and Tanya.
